White Label Web Development for Agencies in the US, UK, and Australia

White label web development is an arrangement where an agency outsources build work to a partner who stays invisible. The partner writes the code, the agency’s brand goes on the delivery, and the client never learns a third party was involved. Macronimous has worked this way with agencies in the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia since 2002, across WordPress, Magento, React, and rebuilds of AI-generated sites.

Most guides on picking a white label partner tell you to compare hourly rates and turnaround times. That advice is not wrong, but it describes the easy part. Rates are visible before you sign. The things that actually end these relationships are invisible until you are eighteen months in.

Two failures account for most of them. The first is a partner who quietly treats your client as a prospect. The second is subtler and more common: the partner runs white label work as overflow, so your project sits behind their direct clients whenever their own pipeline gets busy. You feel it as missed deadlines that nobody will explain.

We built the company the other way around. White label delivery is roughly 85 to 90 percent of our revenue and has been for sixteen years. Agency projects are not what we do between other jobs. They are the job.

How the partnership actually works

The mechanics matter more than the promises, so here is the operational detail rather than the sales version.

Your client never sees us. Staging links resolve to US-based demo servers, not an Indian IP. Commit messages, code comments, documentation, and readme files carry no Macronimous reference. When your client opens a preview, nothing on screen suggests a second company exists.

You decide how much we appear. Some partners keep us fully behind the wall and relay everything. Others put our developers into their Slack under the agency’s domain, introduced as their team. Both work. The choice is yours and you can change it mid-engagement.

Invoicing happens in your currency. We hold virtual bank accounts in USD, GBP, AUD, EUR, AED, and SGD. A UK agency pays a GBP invoice into a UK account. No international wire fees, no currency conversion showing up on your books, no line item that raises questions during an audit.

Developers work on company hardware. Company-issued laptops, VPN, no personal machines touching your repositories. This is unremarkable in a US agency and genuinely uncommon among offshore shops, which is why it is worth stating.

The poaching question, answered directly

Every agency asks this, usually in a roundabout way near the end of a first call. The direct answer is that we do not approach your clients. Not during the engagement, not after it ends, not two years later when we notice their site needs work.

This is written into the contract, and it is also simple self-interest. An agency partner sends us work for years. A single poached client is one project and the end of a relationship. The math has never been close.

We also sign a mutual NDA before the first commit, and IP transfers to you on delivery. Source code, custom modules, design files, repository access, credentials. Nothing is retained, nothing is licensed back to you, and there is no clause that keeps you dependent on us to make future changes. Our policy on never approaching an agency partner’s clients directly is stated in full in our FAQ.

Pricing

Three engagement models. Numbers are shown because agencies need to build a quote before they can sell the project, and “contact us for pricing” makes that impossible.

How it works
Fixed-Price Project
Hourly
Dedicated Developer
Starting price
From USD 750
USD 22 to 25 per hour
USD 2,500 to 3,000 per month
Best for
Defined scope, signed-off designs, a client who has approved a number
Retainers, maintenance, work that shifts week to week
Continuous pipeline, a developer who learns your standards and stays
Quoting
Free proposal, fixed before work starts
Estimate per task, billed on actuals
Flat monthly, 160 hours
Scope changes
Re-quoted as a change request
Absorbed, no renegotiation
Absorbed, you set priorities weekly
Post-launch support
Up to 50% of build duration, free
Billed as used
Included
Who manages it
Our project manager, reporting to you
You, directly with the developer
You, with a PM for escalation only

The free post-launch support deserves a note, because it sounds like marketing and is not. A twelve-week build carries up to six weeks of free support afterward. We do this because the alternative is an argument about whether a defect is a bug or a change request, and those arguments cost more in goodwill than the support costs in hours. You can read the full terms on what our post-launch support period covers.

What we build

WordPress

Custom themes, WooCommerce, headless builds against the REST API or WPGraphQL, plugin development, multisite, and maintenance retainers. We have delivered more than 1,400 WordPress projects and run a team of 50 or more WordPress developers, which means a second developer can pick up a stalled build without a week of onboarding.

The work agencies send us most often is not the greenfield build. It is the site someone else made a mess of, or the WooCommerce store that slowed to a crawl after four years of plugin accumulation. See our WordPress development services for the full scope.

Magento and Adobe Commerce

More than 100 stores built, with 30 or more dedicated Adobe Commerce engineers. Magento 1 to Magento 2 migrations, Hyva theme builds, custom extensions, payment and ERP integrations, and performance work on Varnish, Redis, and Elasticsearch.

Magento is where the offshore economics matter most to an agency. A senior Magento engineer in the US or UK is expensive and hard to keep busy full time. Renting one from us for a three-month migration and releasing them afterward is a different cost structure entirely. See our Magento development services.

React and headless front ends

Next.js and React front ends against WordPress, Magento GraphQL, or a headless CMS. PWA storefronts. React Native where a client wants one codebase across iOS and Android.

An honest caveat on this one: headless is oversold. For a marketing site with a dozen pages and a blog, a well-built WordPress theme will load faster, cost a third as much, and be editable by the client without a developer. We will tell you that before you quote it, even when the headless build would earn us more. See our React and Magento work.

AI-built site rebuilds

This is the newest line and the one agencies are least prepared for. A client shows up having built their own site in Lovable, v0, or Bolt. It looks fine. Then they ask you to add a blog post, or change a price, or add forty product pages, and you open the repository to find a React app with the content hardcoded in JSX, no CMS, no component reuse, and no way for a non-technical person to change a word.

The client thinks they are asking for a small job. They are asking for a rebuild wearing a small job’s clothes, and quoting it as the former is how agencies lose money on these.

We take the vibe-coded site, keep the design and whatever else is worth keeping, and rebuild it properly with a CMS the client can actually use. Usually WordPress, sometimes headless WordPress behind the existing front end when the design is genuinely good and the client will not tolerate a visual change.

One thing here is unusual enough to mention. We have built an MCP server that lets a site owner manage content by talking to an AI assistant rather than logging into an admin panel. It is in production on one of our own properties. For a client who liked the conversational way they built the site in the first place, this is closer to what they expected than a WordPress dashboard.

Who this suits, and who it does not

A good fit

Agencies with recurring overflow who want the same developers back on the next project. Agencies who have won work in a stack they do not staff for. Agencies who need to hold a margin on fixed-price builds.

A poor fit

One-off projects awarded to the lowest bid. Work with no defined scope and no willingness to define one. Anyone who needs live coverage during US Pacific business hours, since our developers work IST hours overlapping UK and EU time.

Starting an engagement

1. Send the brief

Day zero: Wireframes, a Figma link, a competitor URL, or a paragraph. We work from whatever you have and ask for the rest.

2. Mutual NDA

Frequently asked questions

What is white label web development?

White label web development is an arrangement where an agency outsources the build to a development partner who remains anonymous. The partner writes the code and the agency delivers the finished work to the client under its own brand. The client is not told a third party was involved, and the partner does not appear in staging links, code comments, documentation, or any client-facing communication. It differs from ordinary outsourcing mainly in that anonymity is a contractual obligation rather than a courtesy.

How much does white label web development cost?

At Macronimous, fixed-price projects start at USD 750. Hourly work runs USD 22 to 25. A dedicated full-time developer is USD 2,500 to 3,000 per month for 160 hours. Fixed-price suits a defined scope with approved designs, hourly suits maintenance and shifting work, and a dedicated developer suits agencies with a continuous pipeline who want the same person to stay across projects. Every project gets a free proposal with a fixed number before work begins.

Will you contact my client directly?

No. We do not approach an agency partner’s clients during an engagement, after it ends, or later. This is written into the contract as a no-poach clause, and it is also plain self-interest. An agency partner sends work for years, while a poached client is a single project and the end of the relationship. If you want us in a client meeting, we join as your team under your domain, introduced however you choose.

Who owns the code you write?

You do, in full. Once a mutual NDA is signed before the first commit, and the engagement contract includes a written IP transfer clause. Source code, custom modules, design files, repository access, and credentials all transfer on delivery. We retain nothing, license nothing back to you, and include no clause requiring you to return to us for future changes. The code carries no Macronimous branding in comments, commit messages, or documentation.

How do you keep your name away from my client?

Staging environments run on US-based demo servers, so a preview link does not resolve to an Indian IP address. Code comments, commit messages, readme files, and documentation carry no Macronimous reference. Invoices come from a virtual bank account in your own currency rather than an international transfer. If our developers join your Slack or Jira, they appear under your agency’s domain. You decide how visible we are, and you can change that at any point.

What time zones do your developers work?

Our developers work IST hours that overlap with the United Kingdom and Europe, up to roughly 6 PM IST. We do not run night shifts, which is a deliberate retention policy rather than a limitation we are apologizing for. UK agencies get most of their working day in overlap. US East Coast agencies get roughly four hours of morning overlap and asynchronous handover after that. Australian agencies get strong morning overlap. If you need live coverage during US Pacific afternoons, we are not the right partner.

What happens if a developer leaves mid-project?

We assign a replacement from the same team and handle the handover ourselves. Because our developers work in your repository under your review, with documentation maintained as the work progresses, a second engineer can pick up a build without restarting it. This is the practical difference between a partner and a marketplace freelancer, where a departure means you re-post the job, re-interview, and re-onboard from nothing.

Can you rebuild a site a client made with an AI website builder?

Yes, and this has become a regular request. Sites built in Lovable, v0, or Bolt typically ship as a React application with content hardcoded in the components, no CMS, and no way for a non-technical client to change anything. We keep the design and whatever else is worth keeping, then rebuild it with a content management system the client can use, usually WordPress. Where the existing design is strong, we can also put headless WordPress behind the current front end rather than replacing it.

Do you have agency references we can speak to?

Yes, though with a caveat that follows from everything else on this page. Because our work is white label, most partners do not want to be named publicly. We provide references privately once a conversation is serious, with the partner’s permission each time. We can also share anonymized case detail, including scope, timeline, stack, and outcome, without identifying the agency or the end client.
